Methodology & Sources

Transit dates (ingress/sign-change times for Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu) come from a sidereal calculation using the Lahiri ayanamsa — the same convention used across this platform (TamilCalendar.com, Rasigal.com, jathagam.org). Other traditions (e.g. a different ayanamsa, or Vakya-based panchangam methods) can place an ingress on a different date; this is a stated convention, not the only valid one.

The classical house-effect readings for each Rasi (Guru/Sani favourable houses 2,5,7,9,11 and 3,6,11 respectively; Sade Sati at 12,1,2; Ashtama Sani at 8; Rahu-Ketu favourable at 3,6,10,11) are standard gochara (transit) rules with broad classical consensus. They were first compiled for TamilCalendar.com, carried over unchanged to Rasigal.com, and are reused unchanged here — no new astrological claim is made on this site.

The Combined Transit Dashboard (My Transits) is new presentation, not new astrology: it shows the Guru, Sani and Rahu-Ketu readings for your Rasi side by side, with an overall verdict equal to the most cautious of the three (not an average or a weighted score). We show this plainly rather than inventing a combined numeric score, because there is no single classical formula for weighing three simultaneous transits against each other.

Every page on this site except one is based on your Moon sign (Rasi) alone and never asks for your date, time or place of birth. The one exception is My Peyarchi, which computes a personalised reading from your actual birth chart — it forwards your birth details only to calculate the chart and does not store them; see the Privacy page. For the fuller Kundali.in-style dossier (life predictions, dasha, consultations), see jathagam.org.
